Autism Introduction: Autism belongs to a group of neural developmental disabilities called Autism spectrum disorders. The name “spectrum” arises from the fact that these disorders affect each child differently. These disorders involve delays in the development of many basic skills, including the abilities to socialize or form relationships with others, to communicate verbally and non-verbally effectively and restricted behaviour. Children with Autism may also have intellectual disabilities and behavioural challenges. Autism affects information processing in the brain by altering how nerve cells and their synapses connect and organize; how this occurs is not well understood. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder – ADHD Introduction: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder – ADHD is one of the most common disorders encountered in children and most of the times the disorder is misunderstood and as a result is badly managed. ADHD can be described as a developmental disorder characterized by varying degrees of inattention, overactivity and impulsivity, arising in childhood. Sensory, language or motor impairment, mental retardation or emotional disturbance with deficits of behaviour and performance may also be seen in children suffering from ADHD.
